In a conversation shared on Netflix India’s YouTube channel, veteran actress Shabana Azmi spoke about working with her half -son Farhan Akhtar and daughter -in -law Shibani Dandekar.

Azmi said, “No, it was not really so. The circumstances were much more serious than this.” He said, “Kyunki bahu ne likha aur beta kar raha hai toh meri majaal ki main kisi tarah se, aur voh bhi covid ke zamane mein, na bol du. Toh Voh toh Maine Kar Lia. (Because my daughter -in -law wrote it and my son was building it, so how I was daring, and that too during Kovid, did not say it. So I accepted it.)

Farhan Akhtar is producing the show through Excel Entertainment, while Shibani Dandekar is its author.

In a 2023 interview with Filmfare, Azmi described his intimate relationship with Farhan and Zoya Akhtar, credited to his mother Honey Irani.

He had said, “We are very sociable. I have a great relationship with me on the basis of friendship and faith. I give great importance to Farhan and Zoya and I think they give me importance. I think a lot of credit goes to his mother honey (Irani). I have to say that she was very generous. If she decided that children would not be friends with me, they would not be friends with me.”

Shabana also said that she does not interfere in her matters. “So, I have to accept all honestly that I give it for honey that I have such a beautiful relationship not only with her children but also.

Javed Akhtar first married Honey Irani before marrying Azmi in 1984.
