Cynthia Erivo has addressed the horrific moment a fan criticized Ariana Grande at the ‘Wicked: For Good’ Singapore premiere, reflecting on the emotional week both artists endured. They talked about the film’s darker themes and how the experience strengthened their bond as co-stars.

At the Singapore premiere of ‘Wicked: For Good’ on November 13, a tense moment unfolded when a 26-year-old man named Johnson Wayne jumped the barricade and headed towards Ariana Grande on the ‘yellow’ carpet. Cynthia Erivo, who was walking with her co-star, has now addressed the incident, reflecting on that emotional week and the strength she and Grande found in each other while promoting their movie.
Speaking at a special screening at the Television Academy in Los Angeles, Erivo highlighted how meaningful the film has been to audiences and the cast, as reported Entertainment Weekly“What’s even more amazing is the fact that there are other people who have seen themselves in this movie, in that character, and still see themselves and feel safe and I’m so glad that in order to do that, I had to look into the eyes of this person next to me,” she said,
