Ananya Panday is currently enjoying the positive response to her latest release film CTRL. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the ScreenLife thriller film depicts the life of a social media influencer who gets trapped in an application that tries to control her life. Talking about the film and her character, the young star admitted that she took inspiration from the life of her cousin Alana Pandey and her husband Ivor for her character.
In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ananya Panday said that her cousin Alana Panday and her husband Ivor are influencers who blog about everything that happens in their lives. Therefore, she thought that they were the best people to get inspiration for playing her character Naila Awasthi in CTRL. She told the publication that there are a lot of influencers out there, but her cousin Alana and her husband are a couple bloggers.
“They vlog about everything – from when they met, to their wedding, to their pregnancy and even their journey with their baby,” the Gehraiyaan actress said. He has it all covered on his YouTube channel. Therefore, watching them was a home context that helped him understand the sacrifices required to become a public figure “especially when your life is exposed even more than that of an actor.” Pandey also said that comedian Sumukhi Suresh was part of the writing team and she knows a lot about influencers.
A day ago, Ananya shared several unseen glimpses from the sets of her Netflix film and expressed her gratitude for the love and appreciation she has been receiving. He wrote, “Grateful for all the love and appreciation from Nela and Ctrl who are reading everything and smiling brightly. @Motwane You know exactly how I feel.. I love you so much and I can never thank you enough – it’s a key memory and one of my greatest learnings. And none of this would be possible without the most amazing cast and crew. Watch CTRL on @netflix_in if you haven’t already.”
To keep an eye:
For the unaware, CTRL also stars Vihaan Samat in a pivotal role. Meanwhile, Alana is a part of the reality TV series, The Tribe, produced under Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment. It also stars Alavia Jaffrey, Srishti Pore, Aryana Gandhi, Alfia Jaffrey and Hardik Zaveri.
