A passenger recalled his terrible experience, saying that she was lying on the bed when suddenly the “chaos” burst on the ship. Another said, “I realized that the boat has been slanting and tipping tip. Then it has reduced considerably and actually started walking at a high speed and we could see the sea much higher than the restaurant windows.”
A third passenger said that he had to physically “hang on” to maintain his balance while doing his daily exercise routine on the ship as it was violently tilted. He said, “I was walking on my lap and suddenly the boat was at an angle. The tables and chairs slipped into the room, and a girl slipped towards the pool on her chair.”
Thirteen passengers and three crew members suffered minor injuries in anarchy.
Addressing the incident, Princess Cruise issued a statement: “The Crown Princess faced strong winds during a course change, briefly beyond its normal movement before stabilizing the ship. The water from the Lido Deck Pool flooded with a dining area, but quickly cleared, and some shops and gallians went out.”
He said that the ship did not suffer any structural damage, and the crew responded to stabilizing it rapidly. The company assured that passenger safety was never at risk and announced that the journey would proceed as Scheduled.
Crown princess, capable of accommodating 3090 guests, remained on the course and continued their journey according to the plan. At the time of the incident, it was three days out of its 14-day round-trip trip from Sydney, which is scheduled to end on 8 March. According to Cruzhemapper, the ship will cross New Zealand before returning to the Australian city.
