On Independence Day, its second day in theaters, Coolie collected a domestic of Rs 53.50 crore, which took its total of Rs 119 crore, according to the industry tracking site Sacnilk.com. It follows an unprecedented opening day, when The Sun Pictures Productions earned a worldwide 151 crore rupees-the biggest debut for a Tamil film and the seventh highest for any Indian film globally.
While the occupancy was slightly immersed in the Tamil and Telugu markets, the Hindi version recorded a marginal growth, which reflects the film’s Pan-Indian traction. Overseas also proved to be invincible, racking in approximately $ 8 million in the day alone, furthering politics as a box office.
The release comes in direct competition with ‘War 2’, which earned Rs 56.50 crore in two days, it increased to Rs 108 crore. Nevertheless, ‘Cooli’ has organized a commanding lead, run by Rajinikanth’s mass fan base and Independence Day Holiday Benefits.
In the headlines by Rajinikanth, the film also stars Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Saubin Shahir and Upendra, Aamir Khan with a cameo. The reviews have been introduced positively, but the audience’s response has become heavy, with the pack theater throughout the board.
