From Idli and Poha to Pancakes and Mouseli, there is no dearth of breakfast options in India. Over the years, we have heard and even taught that breakfast is the most essential food of the day, but Dr. Manjari Chandra, Senior Advisor, Everhop Oncology and Max Healthcare have nutritional therapy, disagree.
“Breakfast is not really what our body needs. It is just the perception that we have created. The truth is that, it is a very forced concept from industries that marketing breakfast foods,” she describes India .in.
Visually instead of the following routine, Dr. Lunar recommends more importance to the body’s hunger signals, which is actually nutritious.

Upma, Dosa, Idli (6/10)

“It looks like a healthy food, but for your body, it is more like candy, which is cleverly marketed as nutritious,” Dr. Chandra says. She also says that you can make it equal for candy.
A bowl of fruit (5/10)

Fruits are one of the most favorite breakfast, especially when someone wants to keep it “light and healthy”. While they are actually rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, they also come with high doses of natural sugar.
“Fruits should be eaten in small servings, preferably after protein like eggs, beans, or yogurt. A full bowl of fruits alone is not the right snack,” Dr. Chandra advised.
Skipping breakfast (7/10)
Skipping breakfast is often seen as unhealthy, but Dr. Chandra argues that it may be better than starting the day with a really processed foods. She says, “You need to eat only twice a day, and breakfast we have the most useless food,” she says that people with health conditions may require morning meals.
Furthermore, she says, “Skipping is not the right word; rather, it is about not eating breakfast and instead your body really needs it when you have food. This is the right approach.”
Boiled eggs (8/10)

Eggs are at the top of its list as they provide high quality proteins with essential vitamins and minerals that support overall health. Eggs are one of the most nutritious foods, the best boiled, whether it is soft boiled, hard boiled, or cooked.
