Cool, directed by Lokesh Kanagarj and starring Rajinikanth, continued to move towards the Rs 300 crore India Gross Club. Before release, the film’s expectations were part of the 500 crore Sakal India Club, which became the second of the actor after 2.0. After release, expectations were reduced to Rs 350–400 crore. Word of Mouth did not allow coolie to emerge the highest grossing Kollywood film
The cool will be seen as a lost opportunity. It can easily become the highest grossing Kollywood film ever. But as they say, the word of the mouth can make or break a film. In the case of Coolie, the word of the mouth has not made the film a flop. But despite this certainly the beginning of breaking records, it has reduced it by becoming the highest grossing Kollywood film ever.
