A complaint has been filed against ‘Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12’ host Kiccha Sudeep and other contestants for caste bias.

A formal complaint has been filed with the Karnataka State Women’s Commission against Colors Kannada reality show, ‘Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12’ citing several serious allegations including caste discrimination, physical assault, verbal abuse and insult to women.

The complaint was submitted by social activist Sandhya Pavitra N, who specifically named three persons: the show’s host and actor Kiccha Sudeep, as well as contestants Ashwini Gowda and Rashika.

The complaint specifically alleges that actor Sudeep made derogatory and offensive remarks towards contestant Rakshita, which allegedly promotes derogatory behavior towards women. It further claims that contestant Rashika physically attacked fellow contestant Malavalli Nataraj (Gillie) during an episode. Lastly, the complaint targets contestant Ashwini Gowda, who is said to be associated with Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, for allegedly making caste-based comments, mocking Rakshita’s background and using coded references like “S category” to imply her SC/ST identity.

Following the show’s standard format of isolating the contestants under the watch of host Kiccha Sudeep, ‘Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12’ premiered on Colors Kannada. While the program generally focuses on producing unfiltered reality drama, its content has recently drawn intense external scrutiny regarding the conduct of its participants.

The seriousness of the matter increased significantly as a formal complaint was filed with the Karnataka State Women’s Commission this season. The investigation focused on allegations of serious misconduct within the house, examining the individuals named and the content of the program.

Sudeep has not yet given any reaction on this controversy. He has recently completed the shooting of his upcoming Kannada film ‘Mark’. The film is set for a festive release on December 25, which promises to be an exciting box office clash with Arjun Gyan’s ’45’.
