Comedian Nikki Glaser is set to host the 82nd Golden Globe Awards. The prestigious ceremony will be held on January 5, 2025. In a statement, Nikki expressed her happiness on hosting the annual awards ceremony for the first time.

“I am so thrilled to be hosting the Golden Globes. It’s one of my favorite nights in television and now I get to sit front row (actually, I think I’ll get to host from the stage). The Golden Globes is a huge night not just for TV and film, but for comedy as well. It’s one of the few times show business not only allows itself to be lovingly mocked, but encourages it (at least I hope so). (God willing.) It’s an exciting, but challenging event because it’s live, unpredictable and in front of Hollywood’s biggest stars (who may also be drunk sitting next to their recent exes),” he said.

Glaser added, “Some of my favorite jokes have come from the opening monologues at past Golden Globes, when Tina (Fey), Amy (Poehler), or Ricky (Gervais) have said exactly what we all didn’t know we desperately needed to hear. I just hope to continue that longstanding tradition (which could also lead to me getting canceled). It’s truly a dream job. Plus, now I don’t have to feel guilty about every TV show and movie I’ve watched over the past year. It was all worth it. (Below Deck: Sailing Yacht season four will be nominated, right?).”

Glaser has gained recognition for his acerbic humor, particularly in celebrity roasts, including a recent event for Tom Brady where she mocked his complicated love life and past crypto endorsements.

He also received an Emmy nomination for his latest HBO special, ‘Someday You’ll Die,’ which covered topics ranging from offering to pay for his friends’ abortions to revealing his personal porn habits.

The 82nd Annual Golden Globes will air on CBS on Sunday, January 5, and stream on Paramount+ for Showtime subscribers.
