Undeterred by angry motorists honking their horns, personal insults and even arrests, climate protesters have become a daily sight on the streets of London. This time, Ocean Rebellion campaigners pretended to drown themselves in oil and gas in a protest outside the UN agency in London. Climate change activists staged a scathing demonstration on the steps of the International Maritime Organization, the United Nations agency responsible for regulating maritime transport. “A drowning sea goddess symbolizes the grave threat that LNG poses to our oceans,” the group wrote on Twitter, sharing photos of the stunt show.
The images showed a worker, dressed as a “sea goddess”, holding a fish bowl filled with black liquid over her head as if she was drowning. She could be seen screaming as the liquid hit her face before quickly draining from the bowl. Other protesters around him were seen wearing gas masks and displaying petrol pumps with flames.
“Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is not a “green” solution,” Ocean Rebellion wrote on We should be aware of this.”

according to New York PostThe protest took place on Friday, the last day of meetings of the UN agency’s Marine Environment Protection Committee, which convened to discuss reducing greenhouse gas emissions from ships. Protesters accused the agency of manipulating the fossil fuel industry and failing to protect the ocean.
“The IMO is failing to protect our oceans. LNG is a dirty fuel disguised as clean. We demand transparency and accountability. Stop listening to fossil fuel lobbyists, start protecting our planet! ” the group wrote on the microblogging site.

Meanwhile, climate change activists have been in the news with high-profile direct-action protests such as disrupting Premier League football matches and sporting events to publicize their cause. He has thrown tomato soup on famous paintings and stuck himself on picture frames in galleries. They want the government to stop all new oil and gas exploration and have promised not to stop their protests until it does so.
A few weeks ago, three Just Stop Oil activists threw soup over two “Sunflowers” paintings by Vincent van Gogh in London’s National Gallery. The incident occurred just hours after two other members of the protest group were sentenced to prison for similar acts in 2022.
