‘Citadel Honey Bunny’ makers on quirky title: It’s not a serious action drama

During the teaser launch of the upcoming seriesThe makers deliberated over the quirky title and the reason behind the name. “We wanted to have a slightly quirky name that brings out that element in the series. It’s not a serious action drama where lives are at stake. So we wanted to bring out that quirky element with ‘Honey Bunny’.”
He added, “It’s a love story between these two characters, but they might also kill each other.”
On August 1, the makers released an action-packed teaser of the spy-thriller. The story of ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ is interesting It blends the thrilling elements of a spy action-thriller with the heart-warming charm of a love story, set against the vibrant backdrop of the 90s.
Apart from Varun and Samantha, the teaser also gives a glimpse of the star cast including Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, Soham Majumder, Shivankit Parihar and Kashvi Majumder.
The first season of ‘Citadel’Starring Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville alongside Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the series premiered worldwide in 2023 to widespread acclaim. It became Prime Video’s second most-watched new original series outside the US and the fourth most-watched series worldwide within 24 days of release.
