Chris Evans reveals experience of reprising his Fantastic Four role in Deadpool and Wolverine; says it was ‘a dream come true…’

Chris Evans reprised his favourite Fantastic Four film role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest film Deadpool & Wolverine. The actor recently shared his experience of returning to Marvel to play Johnny Storm aka Human Torch. Evans thanked his co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman for being a part of this iconic film.

In an Instagram story, the Ghosted movie actor shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the sets of Deadpool and Wolverine, in which he is seen wearing a superhero suit and posing with Jackman, Reynolds and director Shawn Levy. The actor also wrote a sweet note along with the picture, “Thank you Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy for making me a part of such an amazing movie!”

He added, “They are three of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Special thanks to Ryan for making this all possible. Getting to play Johnny again was a dream come true and I’ll always have a special place in my heart for him.”

Before becoming famous for playing Captain America in the MCU, Chris Evans played Johnny Storm in the 2005 live-action film Fantastic Four and again in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007).

The actor previously told EW at a San Diego convention that he was “so excited” about his surprise guest role and getting to wear his superhero costume again. He also revealed that it was The Proposal film actor who pitched the idea to him and asked him if he’d be interested in playing “a role from 20 years ago” again, adding, “Ryan is probably the only person I could do it for because he has the Midas touch.”

Evans praised Reynolds’ comedic talents, stating that he makes the jokes before anyone else, adding that it can be challenging to do well when replaying a character, but “Ryan’s humor makes almost everything work, so you automatically feel secure.”

Meanwhile, Deadpool and Wolverine is in theaters now. The film stars Ryan Reynolds, who returns as Deadpool, and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. In addition, Chris Evans, Jennifer Garner, Wesley Snipes and Dafne Keen also make surprise cameos as the Human Torch, Elektra, Blade and X-23, respectively.
