As stalwart Actress Chitrangada Singh, who is dominating the conversation after emerging as one of the biggest hits of 2025, has highlighted why war dramas and action thrillers are usually led by men, while also emphasizing that female-led action films can make for compelling cinema.

Physically and biologically, a woman is (not considered suitable for this role). I know some people may not like what I’m saying, but it’s a truth. There are many social reasons why women can’t possibly be cast like Ranveer Singh’s character is in Dhurandhar. So maybe that’s the reason, because there needs to be some realism when it comes to it.”
“Having said that, some surprising action may take place sequence like there is Lokah And a Southern action movie that was made in early 2025, and it was one of the most terrifying action movies I’ve ever seen,” she continued.
He further suggested that a film of this scale with a female lead could bring an element of surprise. “I don’t know why filmmakers don’t see women doing action, because when you see that, it’s so unexpected, that kind of gruesome violence that a woman is able to get to that point. I think it’s very exciting. So yes, why not? If your story supports that kind of character, if you have that in the writing, I think it makes for some amazing cinema.”
