LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan, who was recently sworn in as a Union minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, called his stint in Bollywood a “disaster”. He also spoke about his friendship with actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut. Chirag worked with Kangana in the 2011 film ‘Mile Na Mile Hum’.

Speaking to ANI, Chirag said that before the country called him a “disaster”, he knew how bad an actor he was. Talking about the time when he made his Bollywood debut, the young politician said, “That was a different time. I can’t say whether it was difficult or easy. No one from my family ever went to Bollywood. In filmy style I can say, ‘My seven Pashtos had no connection with the film’.,

He further added, “I was the first generation to try and get into this field. But very soon I realised it was a disaster. Even before the country I realised I was a disaster. I simply realised I was not made for it (acting).”

Chirag said that since childhood he has seen his father and politician Ram Vilas Paswan giving speeches. Therefore, he could not limit his dialogues to just two lines.

He said, “I have seen my father giving speeches, standing on stage and speaking impromptu and here he is giving me dialogues written and that is all I have to say. He would give two lines of dialogue to speak and I would speak two pages and the producer would say, ‘You don’t have to say that much’ and I grew up watching my father speak impromptu, so I assumed you could improvise dialogues and just speak. I used to do that but very soon I realised I couldn’t memorise dialogues and wear such heavy make-up.”

However, Chirag managed to develop a friendly bond with Kangana during the shooting of his film and according to him, it was one of the few good things that happened to him during his career as an actor.

He said, “The only good thing that happened to me after I tried my luck in acting is that Kangana and I became really good friends. That’s a good thing we have learnt from that time. And I was really looking forward to meeting Kangana in Parliament because in the last three years, I was so busy with my life that I had lost touch with her.”

Kangana Ranaut won the Lok Sabha elections From Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. When asked if he has any tips for his friend’s first speech, Chirag Paswan said that Kangana does not need any tips.
