A school teacher in China, who slapped a student on his face nine times to call his name, was suspended from his position. As South China Morning Post (SCMP)The incident took place on 14 March at a school in Shandong province. The student and his classmates were resting in a playground during a physical education class when the boy saw his mathematics teacher walking near and called his name. This is when the teacher, the surname Wu, was irritated, thinking that the boy showed disrespect towards him.
The teacher contacted a group of students, found the boy who called his name, and slapped him on his face, told by the outlet. The student apologized twice to the teacher, and one of his classmates also tried to convince Mr. Wu to defeat the boy. However, the teacher did not stop his violence and slapped the child 9 times.
The student’s parents said that his face was swollen and he faced tinnitus. Parents also alleged that their child had a constant headache. The boy’s mother said in a social media post, “My son has been in a state of nervousness. I wondering what an adult person said to defeat him.”
The mother alleged that she had taken her son to the hospital, where she came to know about heads and facial injuries. The family then called the police and brought the issue to the notice of the school officials, Mr. Wu was fired.
“Who gave you the right to kill my child? If he did something wrong, you can contact me. You have my telephone number, right?” Mother asked the teacher.

For this, Mr. Wu said, “I know. But I am an old man in my 50s. He called my name loudly and a banquet. It was extremely derogatory. So I slapped his face. I think he should discipline his mouth.”
Meanwhile, the school has taken action against the teacher. The officials suspended Mr. Wu from their teaching position and offered 5,000 yuan in compensation to the boy’s family. However, money was rejected by parents.
Separate, local education authority stated that they are investigating the case, and vow to deal with the case seriously and “based on law and rules”.
