Vicky Kaushal’s period is doing a decent business in his advance booking. The film, which is based on the Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, is expected to record the biggest opening for a Bollywood film so far this year.
Till 11 am on Tuesday, it was sold at the box office about 1.48 lakh tickets for its early day, which was with a gross of Rs 4.21 crore. The maximum business is coming from Maharashtra, where the audience is aware of the legend of Chhatrapati Sambhajiraj.
Chhawa is expected to open in a net of Rs 18-20 crore on its first day. However, various reports show that the film’s producers are trying to push a large number by controlling the ticket sales.
Meanwhile, the Chhawa team continues with promotion across the country. On Tuesday, Vicky, along with Rashmika, the director of the film, Laxman Utekar and producer, Dinesh Vijan visited Delhi. The film is based on the life and valor of Chhatrapati Sambhaji, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who fought with the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.

The film also features Akshar Khanna, Diana Paint, Ashutosh Rana and Divya Dutta, in important roles among others. It is going to hit the screen on 14 February, and Sanam will face an interesting struggle with Teri Kasam, which has been re -released in theaters and is already doing a great business at the box office.
