Channing Tatam and Jena Dewan first crossed the way in 2006, working on the hit dance movie step up. His chemistry on-screen quickly took to real life.
The same year, Tatam shared with people that he was “looking for someone who does not take himself very seriously and a gofball could be.” The Diwan just came out. As they spent more time together, their bond became only strong.
After a few years of dating, Tatam decided to pop the question during air travel. He secretly invited some of his close friends and made this moment even more special to stay there for great surprise.
When the time came, he gave Jena Dewan a beautiful Neil Lane engagement ring. “I’m just very happy,” Diwan later told people, smiling with joy.
Tatam and Diwan were married on July 11, 2009 in Malibu, California, surrounded by family and friends. He exchanged the pledge in front of 220 guests on a sunshine day from the coast.
Tatam looked sharp in a classic tuxido, while Diwan wore a peach-and-edel remdel ball gown that made her shine. After marriage, Tatam shared his happiness with the people, saying, “I am as happy as I can probably be on the planet.”
After their marriage, Tatam and Diwan sent Bali for a romantic honeymoon. Soaking in the beauty of the island, he decided to get a matching tattoo as a symbol of his bond. The tattoo, which meant the “side to side” in Balinies, placed a special meaning for the couple.
Chaning Tatam obtained his ink on his rib cage, while Diwan chose him on his leg. Considering the verdict, Tatam shared in 2009, “We always wanted to get a tattoo of something together.”
In 2013, the couple welcomed their daughter, Everly in London. He shared on his websites, “Jena Dewan-Tamtam and Chaning Tatam are thrilled to announce the birth of their daughter Everly Tatam, who were born in London on 31 May.”
After about nine years of marriage, Tatam and Diwan announced their separation on April 2, 2018. “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple,” he said in a joint statement to the people. Diwan later told Harper’s market that his daughter inspired him to be independent.
Diwan filed for divorce in October 2018, cited unchanged differences. Both Tatam and Diwan requested Everly’s joint custody. By 2019, he was legally declared single, although financial and property issues remained unresolved.
Following six years of legal disputes, Tatam and Diwan finalized their divorce disposal in September 2024. His disagreement mainly included profits from Tatam’s Magic Mike Franchise.
From April 2024, court documents revealed that the Diwan wanted the two to testify about their finance. However, settlement saved the December 2024 testing.
