Kartik Aaryan was recently seen in Kabir Khan directed Chandu Champion. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Kartik nailed his role playing India’s first Paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar. His physical transformation journey of losing 18 kg for the role is a proof of that.
Kartik recently revealed an incident that happened on the sets of Chandu Champion that might have caused injury to his eye.
Kartik Aaryan opens up about preparing for the fight scene in Chandu Champion
In a new interview with Zoom, Kartik Aaryan recalled the time when he was rehearsing for a fight scene in Chandu Champion. Kartik shared that he experienced an explosion on the set during which he got scared.
Talking about the scene, Kartik said, “We are all running and there is an explosion. Mere dahi paas me baadte hue bas pehle hona tha… (The explosion was supposed to happen on his right side before he reaches a certain point after the run).”
He said, “There was some timing wrong during the rehearsal so when I reached the spot, it exploded at that very moment. It blasted my right eye.”
Karthik further revealed that the incident was quite scary. The Chandu Champion actor recalled that he was unable to open his eyes for some time. He further revealed that the right eye was “completely filled with mud” and explosive particles were filled in it.
Karthik said that luckily, the particles were not sharp enough to hurt his eye. Although, no serious incident happened, the actor said that he was quite scared during the incident.
The 33-year-old actor also revealed that he waited for some time and then resumed rehearsals. Before reshooting the scene, he washed his eyes and took medical help from a team “who took care of it”.
