It appears that Chad Michael Murray was taken back to the good old days when he worked with Lindsay Lohan on the upcoming film, the sequel to Freaky Friday, titled Freakier Friday. He talked to the actress about working in films again.
According to People Magazine, Murray talked about the upcoming venture when asked about it during Christmas Con held in Edison, New Jersey on December 15. The actor said, “It was amazing. It was just a nostalgic kick.”
The Merry Gentleman actor said, “It felt like a high school reunion, you know? It felt like no time had passed, and yet we had a whole lifetime between us.” Murray shared that it had been 23 years since he first appeared on set.
According to the outlet, the A Cinderella Story star also discussed that following the film’s storyline, which involves body swapping between family members, can be confusing at times.
Murray said there were moments when he questioned who was who. He talked about being “focused” and doing his homework and still making mistakes. He added, “But it was great.” so much fun.”
When news broke about a second installment of the film, early Freaky Friday fans rejoiced. According to the report, in the upcoming venture, Murray, Lohan and Jaime Lee Curtis will reprise their roles as Jake, Anna Coleman and Tess Coleman respectively.
According to Variety, apart from the above actors, other actors who will star in the project are Christian Vodl Mitchell, Mark Harmon, Haley Hudson, Stephen Tobolowsky, Lucille Soong, Ruslans Chao, Julia Butters, Maitre Ramakrishnan and many more.
Freakier Friday movie is scheduled to release in theaters on August 8, 2025.
