CES 2026: Dell brings back XPS, launches new XPS 14 and XPS 16 laptops
Dell is bringing back the XPS. A year after abandoning its sub-brand in favor of a different naming scheme, the PC giant announced at CES 2026 that it is bringing back its fan-favorite lineup. This comeback will be led by the redesigned XPS 14 and XPS 16. Here are all the details.

A year earlier, Dell had decided to drop its XPS sub-brand in favor of a different naming scheme. At CES 2026, the PC giant announced that after taking feedback from users, it has decided to bring back the XPS. Leading the return of the iconic brand will be the redesigned XPS 14 and XPS 16, with a smaller XPS 13 also in the works. Here are all the details.
Dell showcased its new XPS 14 and XPS 16 laptops at CES 2026. The company claims it hopes to recapture the interest of the “extreme performance system” fanbase who want a premium Windows experience, as well as attract new users.
Last year, Dell switched to a more general naming scheme, consisting of – Premium, Plus, Pro and Pro Max models.
Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16 design and construction
According to Dell, the new XPS models have been rebuilt from the ground up with a focus on portability, functionality, and battery life. The XPS 14 weighs about three pounds (about 1.3 kg) and the XPS 16 weighs about 3.6 pounds (about 1.6 kg). Both devices are lighter and thinner than previous versions. The laptop features CNC aluminum and Gorilla Glass for durability and a minimalist design.
For the first time, the XPS logo is placed on the lid, presumably a way to emphasize the return of the iconic sub-brand.
Dell claims that it has also taken into consideration user feedback. The new XPS laptop gets a proper row of function keys along with micro-carved borders on the glass touchpad. The keyboard design has been refined for better tactile response and typing accuracy. While the mesh-less keyboard remains on the XPS 14 and XPS 16, Dell is planning a change for the upcoming XPS 13.
The new XPS laptops also focus on sustainability with recycled steel in the hinges and recycled cobalt and copper in the batteries. You also get modular USB-C ports for easy repairs, meeting the latest EPEAT 2.0 standards.
Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16 performance and specifications
Powered by Intel’s Core Ultra Series 3 processors and integrated Intel Arc graphics, the new XPS 14 and XPS 16 devices promise faster AI and graphics performance than previous generations. Both laptops also get redesigned thermal systems with larger, thinner fins that help maintain cooler and quieter operation.
The XPS 14 and XPS 16 offer two display options: a 2K LCD panel and a high-brightness tandem OLED. Both displays have variable refresh rates that can go as low as 1Hz to maximize battery life. Dell says you can get up to 27 hours on a charge for daily use, or 40+ hours for local video playback.
Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16 launch and price
At launch, color options include graphite, with a shimmer option coming later. The XPS 14 and 16 prices in the US start at $1,649 (roughly Rs. 1,48,000) and $1,849 (roughly Rs. 1,66,000), respectively. These prices are for the base configuration, which includes a 1920 x 1200 IPS display, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, a 512GB SSD, and Intel’s Core Ultra 5 325 processor. Entry-level and high-end configurations will be released in February. A version of the XPS 14 with Ubuntu 24.04 will also be coming later this year.
There is no official information available regarding the prices of the new XPS lineup in India. Dell will likely launch the XPS 14 and XPS 16 in India in the coming months.
Dell is also previewing a new XPS 13 model for later in 2026, aimed at a broader audience at a more accessible price point.
