Celine Dion, the music legend behind evergreen hits like ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and ‘The Power of Love’, is determined to make her presence felt on stage once again. This determination comes after she was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that causes muscle stiffness and spasms.

Diane had first revealed about her condition in December 2022, after which she postponed several shows. However, in her recent interview with Hoda Kotb, she said that she would not be able to speak openly about her illness. NBC’s Today Show A warrior spirit emerged. Despite the challenges posed by the disease, Dion declared, “I will go back on stage, even if I have to crawl, even if I have to talk with my hands. I will go. I will go.”

She added, “I am Celine Dion, because today my voice will be heard for the first time, not just because I have to or because I need to. But because I want to. And I miss it.”

For those who don’t know, this neurological condition causes stiffness and can affect a person’s ability to move or even speak.

The effects of stiff person syndrome have been significant for Dion. The disorder has affected her mobility and singing abilities, causing her to cancel residencies and tours. Still, her passion for performing hasn’t diminished. “I’m not going to scare my fans. I’m not going to come home tonight and tell my kids that I had to stop the show. I’m going to get on stage because I’m ready. And my vocal cords won’t scare me, because I’m ready, and I’m going to hit those notes,” Dion affirmed.

Dion’s dedication to her work and her fans is truly inspiring. “I don’t want to be afraid of myself and question my music, my songs. I don’t want that. Because music is a language. And it’s in everybody’s life,” the “I Surrender” singer says.

The trailer of Celine Dion’s documentary ‘I Am Celine’ released on May 24. The two-minute trailer gives a glimpse of what to expect from the documentary. In the trailer, an emotional Celine is seen opening up about her health struggles. The iconic singer was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Stiff Person Syndrome in 2022.

Through her latest interview, Celine has proven one thing — her powerful voice may take on a different form, but it seems certain fans will love to hear her sing once again.
