Many people specifically questioned why American impressive and Youtube star Emma Chamberlane was allowed to wear a part of the prestigious necklace in 2022 Mate Gala, while Dosanz was denied the same honor.

French luxury brand Cartier received all flicks after his stylist, Abhilasha Devnani told the new York Times That he “tried to borrow that iconic cartier necklace for the night”, but could not, because “it is seal in a museum”.

“So Diljit Dosanj was to wear jewelry inspired by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala’s Cartier Collection, as he was not allowed to wear the original necklace. But Emma Chamberlain wore the original cartier Patiala Chokar in 2022. Talk about cultural appropriation!” Written a user on X.

Read another post on social media platforms, “Diljit Dosanjh was denied permission by Cartier to borrow to the Maharaja of Patiala in Patiala. But he had joyfully given a white YouTube a few years ago.”

“They do not want to accept the colonial past of this art and the colonial past of the cart. Shame on Cartier, “reads a comment on an Instagram post about the controversy.

Several fashion comments, including Sufi Motiwala, while interrogating the Cartier, said that Diljit refuses to borrow the historic piece, after his international praise and large -scale fan.

Little about Patiala necklace

In 1928, the necklace for Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala was fashioned by Cartier, when he presented an extraordinary contingent of gemstone to a cartier salesman with a request to modernize his Hirloom Collection. The team spent three years to make the set, in which the defeat was visible.

The necklace had five rows of an embedded platinum chain with 2,930 diamonds, including the world’s seventh largest, day beer diamond. However, after mysterious my son, Maharaja Yadvindra Singh, it was mysteriously disappeared, the last wore in 1948. It was recovered half a century later by Cartier Representative Eric Nusbam in London, but the former was a skeleton of self – Gone de Beer Stone and most of its Burmese rubies. So the cartier set to restore the necklace and race other original stones.

Why was Diljit refused to borrow defeat?

While the cartier has not commented on the matter, currently the Victoria and Albert Museum in London demonstrates defeat as part of a cartier exhibition, including 350 items, historical gems and iconic watches as part of a cartier exhibition in London. The exhibition was opened to the public on 12 April and will remain open till 16 November this year.

It is not clear whether Dosanz’s stylist had reached the brand to borrow the piece before or after finalizing the exhibition.

However, Dosanjh flaunted a piece of some other cartier in Met Gala, including a panthere de cartier watch, bracelet, and a ring. The singer-actor also thanked the cartier in his Instagram post caption, with designer Prabal Gurung, Golecha Jewels, Stylist Abhilasha Devnani and Anna Vintor.
