Can’t remain silent: Rashmika warns of legal action over leaked family audio

Actress Rashmika Mandanna has reacted to reports about an alleged audio clip circulating on social media, saying it appears to be from a private conversation that took place almost eight years ago. Describing the dissemination of the clip as an invasion of privacy, he warned that sharing such material could lead to legal action.
The issue came to light when an alleged audio clip purportedly containing a conversation of Rashmika Mandanna’s family member started circulating widely on social media. The clip is said to contain comments about the actor’s past relationship with actor Rakshit Shetty. The authenticity of the recording has not been independently confirmed.

In a statement shared on X, the actor said that it appears that the conversation was recorded and broadcast without the knowledge or consent of those involved. He said only a small portion of the conversation has reportedly been clipped and circulated online, resulting in what he believes is material taken out of context.
Rashmika revealed that for the last eight years she has faced misinformation, harassment and targeted attacks from a section of the media and online individuals. In the note, he said that many of the comments attributed to him were either misinterpreted or completely fabricated, which led to such stories being widely spread on digital platforms.
While the actress said that she has chosen to be patient and remain silent despite the trouble it has caused, she said that the events of the last 24 hours have crossed a line that she can no longer ignore. He also expressed concern that this situation has caused unnecessary distress to his family members and people close to him, who have no connection with the case.
Terming the spread of the clips as misleading and defamatory, Rashmika requested media platforms, influencers and individuals sharing the content or related narratives to immediately remove them. He said that those who continue to spread the material have been given 24 hours, otherwise legal action will be initiated.
He also questioned the timing of the spread, noting that it came amid recent developments in his personal life. He said that the decision to speak out has not been taken lightly, but has become necessary to protect his dignity, privacy and peace.
He ended the series of posts by wishing everyone warm wishes with a short message in his mother tongue Kodava Tak. The post also showed a photo of her outfit from her Hyderabad reception, which featured an embroidered Kodava cultural symbol, signifying Rashmika’s connection to her roots.
Meanwhile, Rashmika recently married actor Vijay Deverakonda on February 26, 2026 in Udaipur in the presence of close friends and family. The couple later hosted a grand reception for their industry colleagues in Hyderabad.
