Cannes winner All We Imagine As Light to release on limited screens in Kerala

All We Imagine As Light, the Grand Prix winner at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, will have a limited screen release in Kerala on Saturday, September 21. Spirit Media has acquired the exclusive distribution rights for this Indo-French co-production.

All We Imagine As Light, directed by Payal Kapadia and winner of the Grand Prix at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, is set to hit limited screens in Kerala this Saturday, September 21.

Spirit Media, the production house founded by actor and producer Rana Daggubati, has acquired exclusive rights to distribute the Malayalam-Hindi film across India.

The film, titled Prabhaya Ninachthalam in Malayalam, will also be screened in major cities across the country after its first release in Kerala. The film is an official Indo-French co-production between India’s Chalk & Cheese Films and France’s Petit Chaos. Indian producers Zico Maitra (Chalk & Cheese Films) and Ranbir Das (Another Birth) played key roles in the making of the film, with Das also serving as the cinematographer.

The release of All We Imagine as Light has garnered a lot of attention in the Indian film industry due to its international acclaim and the strong performances of its lead actors. Spirit Media’s involvement is another significant step towards connecting global cinema with Indian audiences, providing a platform for unique voices and stories.

The film stars Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha and Chaaya Kadam. All We Imagine As Light is the story of Prabha (Kusruti), a nurse living in Mumbai, whose life turns upside down after she finds a rice cooker from her estranged husband. Divya Prabha plays Prabha’s roommate and colleague Anu, who is dealing with her own struggles in the crowded city while seeking solitude to spend time with her boyfriend. Chaaya Kadam plays Prabha’s best friend and widow Parvati, who is thrown out of her home by ruthless property developers.
