On November 14, a camera assistant on the sets of the popular TV show Anupama died of electrocution during filming. Vineet Kumar Mandal, 32, from Bihar was handling technical equipment when he came in contact with a live wire. He was taken to the hospital but died during treatment.

Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Cut Productions, the production house behind the show, has not yet released any official statement regarding the tragedy. Meanwhile, All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) President Suresh Gupta has condemned the silence of the production house on the incident.

Suresh Gupta also demanded investigation into the incident and compensation of Rs 1 crore to the family of the deceased.
