Tiger Warning: S*Xual Abuse is mentioned in this article.
Homebound cinematographer Pratik Shah was accused of serious misconduct and derogatory behavior. In response, filmmaker Hansal Mehta has urged powerful men in the industry for a comprehensive examination of the pattern of hunter works. Known for films such as Shahid and Citylights, Mehta posted an extended statement on X (East Twitter), emphasized the importance of accountability, and also said for an inquiry. He insisted that the remaining people should not be left to bear their trauma in silence.
In his X post, Hansal Mehta began, “Abuse thrives in silence. It celebrates in fear. The hunter behavior by men in the positions of power should be thoroughly examined, and if found true, it should be out, unevenly and without delay, for a very long, for a very long time, the predators should have armed effects, privileges, and fear, which should be silent.”

Mehta insisted that misuse of power is not limited to any one gender, given that women are also responsible for harming the influential positions. He said that misuse can manifest in various forms, not only*xual, but also mental, emotional and psychological, which can be equally harmful.
Mehta further said that toxic behavior is often made a mask as ‘passion’ or ‘talent’ in a creative environment, a mentality she believes that it ends. He stressed that an artistic discovery, whether a film, script, or any other project, is worth compromising on the safety or mental welfare of a person.
The note further reads, “The victims need a voice. They need to prevent.
Meanwhile, Dharma Productions recently broke its silence on the allegations and said that it maintains a zero-assessment policy towards unfair behavior and sexual harassment against anyone associated with its projects, treating such cases with great seriousness.
He clarified that Pratik Shah was engaged as a freelancer on the film Homebound for a limited period, and his association with production has ended. While working on the project, his internal posh committee received no complaint against them from homebound artists or crews.
After the emergence of allegations on social media, Pratik Shah took his Instagram account. He has not yet issued any official statement addressing the allegations.
Shah was a cinematographer for homebound, the only Indian feature film shown at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The film directed by Neeraj Gaywan was produced under the banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
