The story of Season 1 focuses on Bela (Ananya Panday) who comes from a wealthy family, but soon learns from her mother that their family may go bankrupt within a year. Under pressure from her mother, she marries Agastya (Vihaan Samat), a successful businessman, and the two eventually get married, allowing Bela to save her family from financial ruin.

However, Agastya’s emotional detachment leads Bela to begin an affair with her gym trainer Prince (Varun Sood), but is caught. As a result, she is separated from Agastya and loses access to the wealth that came with their marriage. The story then follows Bela’s journey of self-discovery, as she grows into an independent woman who can take care of herself.

The comedy-drama is written by Ishita Moitra, Rohit Nair and Samina Motlekar and directed by Collin D’Cunha. It stars Gurfateh Pirzada, Muskaan Jaffrey, Varun Sood, Niharica Lyra Dutt, Vihaan Samat, Vir Das, Riya Sen, Mini Mathur, Suchitra Pillai, Karishma Tanna, Sayani Gupta and others in lead roles. Call Me Bae is co-produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra under the banner of Dharmatic Entertainment.

In terms of her upcoming projects, Pandey is set to appear in Vikramaditya Motwane’s thriller CTRL, which also stars Devika Vatsa, Ravish Desai, Suchita Trivedi, Kamakshi Bhat, Samit Gambhir and Aparshakti Khurana. The film is set to premiere on Netflix on October 4, 2024. Besides this, she will share the screen with Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan in Karan Singh Tyagi’s period-drama Shankara.
