Amid the tremendous response received by Vijay Sethupathi’s recent release Maharaja at the box office, speculations are already rife about his next film. Reportedly, the Super Deluxe actor is all set to work with Etharkkum Thunindhavan writer-director Pandiraj.
According to a report in Valai Pechu, while working on Viduthalai Part 2, the actor had signed up to star in a new family entertainer by the director. If the report turns out to be true, this will be the duo’s first collaboration.
Are Vijay Sethupathi and Pandiraj all set to work together for the first time?
The official announcement of VJS52 is still pending. However, as per reports, the script of the Pandiraj venture has been finalised, and filming will begin soon. Moreover, rumours also suggest that Sathya Jyothi Films, which is associated with films like Captain Miller, Vivegam and Maaran, is set to produce the film.
Vijay Sethupathi has been receiving positive responses from audiences across India for his 50th film Maharaja. The film has become a superhit, earning a great collection at the Indian box office in its first week. Recently, the team of Maharaja also celebrated a grand Thanksgiving event in Chennai.
On the work front
Vijay Sethupathi was last seen in Nithilan Swaminathan directed Maharaja. Swaminathan made a notable directorial debut in 2017 with the critically acclaimed crime thriller Korangu Bommai and returns with his latest venture Maharaja, which marks Sethupathi’s 50th film.
Apart from the lead role played by Sethupathi, the film also stars Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, Munishkanth, Manikandan, Natarajan Subramaniam, Abhirami, Aruldoss and other actors in pivotal roles.
Sethupathi will next be seen in Viduthalai Part 2, a Tamil political period crime thriller film directed and co-produced by Vetrimaaran. The actor was part of the first installment of Viduthalai, in which he played the role of Perumal. The first part of Viduthalai was very successful. The sequel, currently under production, is scheduled to release in the latter half of 2024. It features music by Ilaiyaraaja, cinematography by R. Velraj and editing by R. Ramar.
