Ajit Kumar was last seen in the film Vidamuyarki, which was released on 6 February 2025. As the actor has not yet announced his next venture, director Karthik Subbaraj is being named round.
According to a discussion by Sima, Ajit Kumar is expected to do a film with a retro director, titled AK64. However, so far, speculation about cooperation is rumors alone, with an official confirmation.
For the last few weeks, the names of several directors are coming to cooperate with Ajit for his next enterprise. Earlier, it was reported that Maharaja director Nitilan Swaminathan could also cooperate on a film.
Apart from him, the names of directors like Prashant Neil, Vishnuvardhan and even Venkat Prabhu were Gulzar. However, the ongoing speculation claims that Karthik may soon join the hands with AK, and the next project will be a quick that begins in October.
Moving forward, Ajit Kumar’s latest hit, Vidamuirchi, directed by Maggies Thirumani, is an action thriller based on the Hollywood film Breakdown. Trisha played the female lead in the film.
The film tells the story of Arjun and Kayal, a couple is moving towards a divorce as her husband was later cheated. As soon as the couple travels to their parents’ house, they are abducted by some people.
Now, Arjun should get up against all obstacles to face the challenge in hand and save his wife, strongly through violence. The lead also has important roles for Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, Arav and many others, along with Ajit and Trisha.
Apart from this, Ajit will also once again hit theaters with his film Good Bad Badson, directed by Edhik Ravichandran, which is slapped to release on 10 April 2025.
On the other hand, director Karthik Subbej is set to hit a big screen with his film Retro this year, starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde. The film is ready to hit the larger screen on 1 May, to be a romantic actioner.
