Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ is set to become India’s most expensive film ever, in which a budget of Rs 4000 crore is crossed for both parts. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sile Pallavi, the film has promised a grand cinematic experience by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman with world class VFX, AI dubbing and music.

The upcoming film ‘Ramayana’, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is being made on a shocking budget of more than Rs 4000 crore spread over two parts. With this, the film is set to make history as the most expensive Indian film ever. Earlier, it was estimated that the film’s budget would be around Rs 1600 crore, but a source close to the project has now confirmed that the final cost is close to $ 500 million, making it one of the most expensive films ever in India.
The source said, “The film is being placed at an international level and by the time both films are made, the budget will reach more than 4000 crores. The team plans to make world -class VFX and special impact to give the audience the best experience.”
The film is called a VFX-Havi Project and is being prepared for a grand IMAX experience. It will also integrate AI dubbing technology, allowing the audience to watch the film in any regional language, which is the first innovation in Indian cinema. The prime focus under the leadership of producer Namit Malhotra is leading technical aspects to give blind immersive experiences.

On Saturday, producer A motion poster unveiled Lord Rama as Ranbir Kapoor and Yash as Ravana. While the poster only offers an animated glimpse of major characters, background music by Oscar winners Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman raised expectations.
‘Ramayana’ stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord RamSai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravana. It also includes Sunny Deol, Wickran Masi, Ravi Dubey, Lara Dutta, Indira Krishnan, Vivek Oberoi and Arun Govil. The first part of the film is to be released during Diwali 2026, followed by the second part in 2027.
