During the Union Budget 2025, Financial Minister Nirmala Sitaraman announced some important steps that would help India capture India with the high-book AI-Duniya. In the budget, the Ministry has allocated Rs 500 crore to set up a new center in Artificial Intelligence for Education. During his speech in the Lok Sabha, he said, “I announced three centers of excellence in agriculture, health and artificial intelligence for sustainable cities in 2023. Now, a center of excellence in artificial intelligence for education will be setup with a total outlay. 500 crores. ,

Nirmala Sitarman also unveiled plans for the establishment of five national centers for skilling, which aims to equip the youth with industry-related expertise. “These centers will be established with global participation to support India, Make,” Sitarman said for world construction. The initiative will focus on developing comprehensive courses, training trainers, implementing a skill certification structure and regular evaluation.

A few days after the announcement by the Ministry of IT, it comes that India will get its big language model (LLM) this year. Union Electronics and IT Minister, Ashwini Vaishnav has claimed that the nation will witness its first in-house LLM model in 10 months. The model will be just like a chat and deepsek model, which will lead to an important step in the world of AI.

India’s AI ambitions are reduced by a strong infrastructure, which has crossed its initial target of 10,000 GPUs, now a total of 18,600. It is important to train advanced computing power AI models. Most of these GPUs are high performance NVIDIA H100 and H200 models with MI325 units. To keep it in perspective, Dipsek AI was trained using 2,500 GPUs, while the chat took advantage of 25,000. With over 15,000 top level GPU, India is now strongly deployed in the global AI race. Vaishnav stressed that this infrastructure would be important for the country’s AI mission, which will enable the development of models that can compete with the best in the world.

India’s AI model is currently working, with six major developers attempts. The government estimates that the first versions will be ready within 4 to 10 months. The model is being designed to accommodate the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of the country. Vaishnav expressed optimism about the project, highlighting that the improvement in algorithm skills would allow India to develop a world -class AI model in the shorter deadline.
