Kareena Kapoor Khan is currently awaiting the release of her film The Buckingham Murders. She plays the role of a detective Jasmeet Bhamra in it. One of Kareena’s most famous characters is her character Geet, the ‘Bathinda Wali Sikhni’ in Jab We Met. During the trailer launch of her upcoming film, Kareena revealed if Jas has the same qualities as Geet.
Today, on September 3, 2024, the team of The Buckingham Murders gathered for an event in Mumbai to launch the trailer. During the event, Kareena Kapoor Khan was asked if her character Jas has any traits of Geet, as they are both Sardarnis.
In response, Kareena said that she did not think so because Jab We Met was a completely different film. She said, “It does not matter if you are playing the authenticity of the same religion or not, like if I am a Sikhni it does not mean that I will become Bathinda wali Sikhni. I should also play the character of Jas Bhamra, a detective.” Kareena believed that it is the responsibility of the actor to play different characters.
Comparing two other characters from her films, Kareena said, “Like I have played a prostitute in Chameli and also in Talaash. But if you put the two together they are completely different.” Similarly, she felt Jass was also a very different character.
Meanwhile, the 2 minute 34 second trailer of The Buckingham Murders gave a glimpse of the plot of this thriller. It is based on the investigation of the crime by Detective Bhamra, who cannot trust anyone around her.
The film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Brar, Ash Tandon, Asad Raja, Prabhleen Sandhu, Sanjeev Mehra, Adwoa Akoto and Zain Hussain. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta R Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. Aseem Arora, Kashyap Kapoor and Raghav Raj Kakkar have written the screenplay.
Buckingham Murders is set to release in theatres on September 13, 2024. This will be Kareena’s second release this year, having previously appeared in the comedy Crew, in which she shared the screen with actresses Kriti Sanon and Tabu.
