Accidents do not come with warning. They occur suddenly and can sometimes have long-term effects. Sammy Mai, a UK-based woman, faced a similar unfortunate incident during her vacation in England. The cause of his trouble was a cauliflower. Yes, you read that right. Over the holidays, Sammy Mai went to a Waitrose supermarket, where she was leaning on the bottom rack to look for something, GB News reports. Then a cauliflower rolled from a six-foot high shelf and fell on her head, rendering her unconscious. “Suddenly a very large and heavy object fell from above my head and hit me on the head. I fell and when I woke up, I was hurting and fainted,” she revealed.

Later, Sammy Mai was admitted to the hospital with severe headaches, dizziness and nausea, according to a report by The Sun. He was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome. In an interview with the outlet, she shared that she is still “very unwell” and “unable to work”, stressing that her daily life has been severely affected. Criticizing supermarket officials for negligence, he said, “I don’t know how the cauliflower fell but they shouldn’t keep heavy, round things like that on the top shelf.” Sammy continued that Waitrose officials “did not take the incident seriously” and put the cauliflower back on the top shelf.
In another conversation with GB News, Sammy Mae revealed that she suffers from “pain (and) anxiety” despite being treated for these medical conditions, including head and neck pain.

What further upset Sammy Mae was that Waitrose staff attempted to resolve the matter by offering her a $25 voucher and an additional $8 to cover the taxi fare home. The woman claimed that she did not use the money given to her as a “goodwill gesture” because she found it “disrespectful”. “I live in Kingston – do you think £8 could get me a taxi from Bath back to Kingston?” He said.
A Waitrose spokesperson told the Daily Mail that they called “a trained first aider at the scene of the accident” to help their customer. The spokesperson also expressed sadness to learn about Sammy Mae’s health condition.
