British diver Tom Daley won hearts by bringing his knitting passion back to Paris

Thomas Robert Daley, popularly known as Tom Daley, has won hearts by taking out his knitting needles before. It continued with his knitting at the Paris Olympics 2024 as well. The gymnast won gold for the fifth time at the biggest international sporting event along with Noah Williams in the men’s synchronised 10m platform in Paris on Monday. Apart from his achievements though, the internet is obsessed with his knitting needles. Over the past few years, Tom Daley has been seen pursuing his love for knitting, which he flaunts on a dedicated Instagram handle called Made With Love.

Tom Daley and his love of knitting, crochet and crafts is a long-standing one and he has been spotted knitting during past Olympics. Knitting has been linked to fighting depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, addiction and chronic pain. Furthermore, a wide variety of people have benefited from it. British divers have been on this bandwagon for a long time.

• Recently, Tom was caught knitting while watching the springboard finals. He was busy knitting in his own rhythm and occasionally looked up to watch the game.
• Earlier, she had knitted a cozy little pouch to protect her Olympic gold medal from scratches at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
• The Tokyo Olympics also saw Tom knitting an Olympic-themed white cardigan for himself, with motifs of the Union Jack, Great Britain, Tokyo and the Olympic logo on the back. He made it for himself as a cozy and cute memento of the Tokyo Olympics.
• Tom was also spotted knitting a royal blue cardigan with the words 'Daily' written in white on the back and red and white piping around the neck.
