External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, while addressing the 79th United Nations General Assembly session in New York today, gave a strong warning to Pakistan.
Talking about Pakistan’s decades-old policy of terrorism, Mr Jaishankar warned Islamabad that its “actions will definitely have consequences”.
Mr Jaishankar, who talked about the ‘Pakistan problem’ at the end of his nearly twenty-minute speech, made it clear to Islamabad that “Pakistan’s policy of cross-border terrorism can never succeed”.
Pakistan, which is facing its worst economic crisis since its formation in 1947, has been left behind because of its “conscious choices that have disastrous consequences”, the foreign minister said.
Shri Jaishankar said, “Many countries are left behind due to circumstances beyond their control. But some people make deliberate choices that have disastrous consequences. A prime example of this is our neighboring country Pakistan. Unfortunately, their misdeeds affect others. “Also affect the neighborhood, especially.”
Highlighting the impact of Islamabad’s terror policies, Mr Jaishankar said, “When this politics creates such radicalization among its people, its GDP can only be measured in terms of its exports in the form of radicalism and terrorism “
Taking a dig at the fate of Pakistan due to its policy of radicalizing its citizens, especially the youth, the Foreign Minister said, “Today, we see that the bad influence it wants to exert on others is swallowing up its own society He cannot blame the world; it is only karma,”
The External Affairs Minister further said, “A passive nation coveting the land of others must be exposed and countered. We heard some of its bizarre claims on this forum yesterday. So let me make India’s position absolutely clear. “Give it.”
Just before concluding his speech, Mr Jaishankar said, “Pakistan’s cross-border terrorism policy will never succeed. And there can be no expectation of impunity,” he said, adding, “On the contrary, the actions will definitely have consequences.” “This issue should be resolved amongst ourselves.” All we have to do now is vacate the Indian territory illegally occupied by Pakistan and, of course, give up Pakistan’s long-standing penchant for terrorism.”
