Creed franchise is making its way beyond theaters and television. Amazon is officially developing a creed spinoff TV series called Delphi, in which franchise star Michael B. Jordan is engaged as an executive manufacturer. The series will focus on training by a new generation of fighters at the Delphi Boxing Academy, depicting both Rocky and Creed films prominently.
While details about casting and a release date are wrapped, Delphi is expected to deepen the legacy of the cinematic universe that began with Sylvester Stalon’s Rocky (1976) nearly five decades ago. The upcoming chain marks the first major sect-branded television materials and continues the ongoing cooperation of Amazon with MGM after the acquisition of the studio.
The original Rocky franchise chronic the life of the underdog fighter Rocky Balboa and launched the stardom to Stardom. It gave birth to five direct sequels from 1979 to 2006, all of which made Rocky in and out of the ring. The story developed in 2015 with the introduction of a play directed by Ryan Kougler, which introduced the audience to Adonis Creed, son of Apollo Creed played by Jordan.
Creed Trillji has been a relevant box office performance.
- Creed (2015) opened for USD 29.6 million, which earned USD 174.1 million worldwide.
- The USD closed with 35.5 million inauguration and USD 213.6 million after Creed II (2018).
- The most recent installment, Creed III (2023), started the direction of Jordan, opened for a franchise-Best USD 58.3 million and reached USD 276 million worldwide on a budget of USD 75 million.
Given this stable track record, it is no surprise that Amazon is betting on the continuous popularity of the brand with Delphi. The gym, which served as a home turf for both Rocky and Adonis, provides a rich narrative ability to detect young, up-end boxers and their struggles, victory and heritage.
Jordan’s participation ensures that the series will be perfect for emotional core and gritty realism that defines Panth films. As the Delphi shape, it promises to pursue the subjects of flexibility, mentorship and redemption, which has made the previous fixture a famous element of American pop culture.
