Baby John, directed by Kellis and starring Varun Dhawan, Vamika Gabbi, Keerthy Suresh, Jackie Shroff and others is set to release in theaters on December 25, 2024. Baby John will be Varun Dhawan’s first full theatrical release after Bhediya. His fans are eagerly awaiting this film, mainly because it presents the actor in a larger-than-life action avatar for the first time. The trailer of Baby John was packed with action, drama and family elements, promising minimum guaranteed entertainment for moviegoers this Christmas. The trailer, though well packed with all the essential elements, hasn’t made a huge difference to the action film’s opening day prospects. The biggest bombshell of the film was created by the first few promos, and since then, the units have been very good, though not extraordinary, creating a strong desire to see it in theatres.

Using the Christmas holidays to its advantage, Baby John will be eyeing a net collection of around Rs 15-18 crore on the first day. These numbers would have been good if they were on non-holidays. But for Christmas, this number should probably reach Rs 20 crore, not more than that. The words coming out of Baby John’s mouth will be very important and can decide whether the actor will be able to prove to be a big hit or not.
Baby John has no competing releases in the near future; The threat is a holdover release
There are no major competing Hindi releases for Baby John and hence, it will continue to run in theaters for weeks, unless the reception is absolutely terrible; Something doesn’t seem to be the case. Baby John actually fears a minor inconvenience in the form of Pushpa 2’s unbeatable performance and Mufasa: The Lion King which released just a few days ago. With the exception of Pushpa 2 and Mufasa: The Lion King, Baby John doesn’t have much competition to worry about.
What can Baby John do for Varun Dhawan?
Baby John has the potential to make Varun Dhawan a big action star for the mass audience. Varun Dhawan has always been inclined towards catering to the needs of the masses, but midway through his career, he started paying more attention to the gentrified audience. While a change in focus was necessary to create more diversity in the actor’s filmography and more range in his acting, perhaps it’s time he aimed to please a bigger crowd, with Baby John being just the first step.
