Rajinikanth -led cool has made a decent debut in Hindi, indicating the first day business with estimates to Rs 5.50 crore to Rs 5.50 crore. The film faced competition from Hrithik Roshan and NTR LED War 2, but managed to get some traction in the mass belt to keep a fair number. Reports are mixed, meaning that a long dramatic run is unlikely, but the manufacturers will expect to rake around Rs 25 crore in a four -day expanded opening weekend.
Coulie is trying to rake the top 3 national chains for Rs 2.50 crore – PVRinox and Cineepolis – who are contributing about 45 percent to 50 percent to the total business. The film has released about 1400 screens in 3800 shows in India, which has sufficient capacity to grow on the second day. Cool has made the second biggest debut for the Tamil film dubbed in Hindi, and is aid from the presence of another Rajinikanth film, 2.0, Akshay Kumar at the top position.
The Tamil version also did a good business in North India with the expectation of being Rs 1.75 crore in North India. Speaking of cool, the film is doing a record business outside North India – whether it is a domestic belt in Tamil Nadu, or internationally trade and of course, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
