Boston Dynamic Atlas Humanoids are making millions of Hyundai cars in their new American feature

It was brought to Hyundai’s new Metaplant in Georgia-your-Humanoid-to-work day, and leading the pack was none other than Atlas, Humanoid Robot from Boston Dynamics. Once known for its Parkaur video, Atlas is now looking into a factory job-a big step for the Robot that is eventually taking the acts of the real world.

Hyundai, who acquired Boston Dynamics from Softbank in 2021, is deploying the Atlas robot as part of a wide push to increase automation in its American features. The company made a commitment to deploy Atlas Humanoids on all its American facilities to assist in real -world functions.

The Georgia factory is already home to a machine -like machine -like dog of Spot Robot, Boston Dynamics, which is used in convenience for inspection. And now Atlas joins the crew to handle more human-like tasks. While Hyundai has not specified how many humanoids it plans to use or which jobs they will deal with, however, it is clear that Hyundai plans to use Humanoids to achieve its new target of making 3 lakh electric and hybrid vehicles in the US factory.

Hyundai has recently committed to invest $ 21 billion in the US, with $ 6 billion innovation, automation and partnership for $ 6 billion. And when the company did not clearly name the tariff, recent trade stress and localization efforts are motivated car manufacturers such as Hyundai to increase American operations and reduce dependence on imports.

As Hyundai is produced annually on Georgia site with a future point of view with 500,000 electric and hybrid vehicles, the Atlas Humanoids will probably play a playing role. The company is eventually expected to produce 1.2 million cars in the US, which is an ambitious leap compared to the estimated 700,000 production number for this year.

Atlas, unlike traditional industrial robots, is bipolar movement and mastery, designed to mimic human motion. This car makes ideal for environment such as construction, where flexibility and adaptability are important. At the Georgia plant, Hyundai already uses special bots to remove and restore car doors during the assembly process, which is an innovation unique to the site. Atlas may soon step into more dynamic roles, repetitive or physically demanding tasks with accurate and endurance.

It also fits into a large trend in tech: the rise of humanoid robot as a serious tool in the workplace. From Tesla’s optimus to startups such as figure and sanctuary AI, Humanoids are being prepared for factory floors, warehouses and even retail.
