Actor Sunny Deol’s Border 2 saw a decline in its earnings on Thursday. However, the Anurag Singh directed film still managed to collect Rs 233 crore at the box office.
The war-drama earned Rs 30 crore on the first day with 6078 shows and an average occupancy of 37.0%, as reported Sacnilk. The momentum picked up on the second day, with collections rising to Rs 36.50 crore from 6,297 shows with 43.1% occupancy. By the third day, the collection increased to Rs 54.50 crore as the occupancy reached 62.5%. This growth peaked on the fourth day, on the Republic Day holiday, when the film grossed Rs 59 crore with a maximum engagement of 65.2% across 6,465 shows.
By the fifth day, the film saw its first real slump, earning Rs 20 crore with occupancy falling to 25.5% in 6,797 screenings. This decline continued on the sixth day, with earnings of Rs 13 crore from 6,422 shows. On the seventh day, the collection reached Rs 11.25 crore with theater occupancy at 15%. As per early estimates on the ninth day, the film earned an additional Rs 9.27 crore to its domestic total.
