Border 2 earned Rs. Collected. It grossed around Rs 6.75 crore on its third Sunday, taking it to Rs. Approx Rs 14.50 crore nett. This is a massive 70 percent drop compared to the other weekend, despite there being no major new releases this week. Normally, at this point, one would expect the business to stabilize, and the decline to subside, which surprisingly has not happened, despite the positive response the film received.
The total box office collection of the film was Rs. Around Rs 290 crore nett. It is on its way to cross Rs. Net mark of Rs 300 crore, which will happen next week. However, it seems unlikely that this will increase further. After a long opening of its first weekend, it looked like the film was on its way to huge earnings, but business declined during the weekdays. It performed well in the second weekend, but went down again on weekdays.
Border 2 is a hit film. At one time it seemed like the super hit was a done deal, but now it may be a close call, depending on how the late stages for the film pan out. For that matter, even the blockbuster was a possibility after what it did in its extended first weekend, but it was quickly dismissed. Nonetheless, this is a very solid result for the film. Military war dramas have traditionally not performed well at the Indian box office. The two hits in space are the original Border film and now this sequel. It’s just that after the historic success of Gadar 2 in 2023, the expectations were very high, which were not fulfilled.
