Border 2 registered a good jump of almost 63 percent on its fourth Saturday, collecting Rs. 2 crores to tally. The surge due to Valentine’s Day was higher than normal, almost 3 times that of the previous day, that too while facing O’Romeo and Tu Ya Me. The ongoing jitters of the military drama have impacted the rupee. Nett in India Rs 299.25 crore. It is all set to enter the Rs. 300 crore club today on its fourth Sunday, while its Valentine weekend is around Rs. 4.25 crores.
The film performed well on weekends but could not maintain the same momentum on weekends. The working days remained normal since the first week. Nevertheless, Border 2 emerged as a clean hit venture. At one point, it even showed potential to become a super hit or blockbuster, but its general weekday trend limited its box office expectations.
Produced by T-Series Films and JP Films, the film has performed better in the northern circuits, where Rajasthan is close to a blockbuster, while Delhi-UP and East Punjab have done super hit business. Poor performance has come to light in Gujarat and Central Circuit of CPCI, due to which Sunny Deol’s film could have been expected to perform strongly, but it did not happen.
Based on current trends, the film starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty will make around Rs. Earning Rs 305 crore at the Indian box office. The military action drama made around 35 percent profit, which is commendable. It has emerged as the second highest grossing film of Sunny Deol and the best film of the career of the rest of the actors.
