Boney Kapoor laughs off Arshad Warsi’s non-payment claim: Everybody wants attention
Filmmaker Boney Kapoor has rejected Arshad Warsi’s recent claims of not being paid dues by Kapoor’s production house during the shooting of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993).

Filmmaker Boney Kapoor has reacted to actor Arshad Warsi’s claim that the Kapoor’s production house did not pay him his dues during the shooting of the film “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai”. Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993). Refuting the claims, Kapoor asked, “Who would have paid him such a huge amount?” Arshad had asked for Rs 1 lakh to choreograph a song in the film, but was paid Rs 75,000 after completing the work a day earlier than promised.
Kapoor said during an interview, “I read his statement and I laughed. We shot the film in 1992 and he is talking about it now. He was not a star at that time. Who would have given him such a huge amount?” Bollywood Hungama.
During his latest interaction on the YouTube show ‘Unfiltered by Samdish’, Arshad revealed that he was hired as the choreographer for the film starring Sridevi and Anil Kapoor. He had told the filmmakers that it would take four days to choreograph the song, and his fee at that time was Rs 1 lakh.
However, they requested him to complete the shoot in three days and he did so. But then he only got Rs 75,000 from the producers. When Arshad asked the production team why he was paid less than the agreed amount, he was told that the fee was Rs 1 lakh for four days. Since he had completed the work a day earlier, they deducted Rs 25,000.
Reacting to Arshad’s claims, Boney Kapoor said, “Pankaj Parasher directed the entire song. It was divided into two parts. It was shot in James Bond style and a part of it was done in Singapore or Hong Kong. A lot of things were happening and Tutu Sharma was handling the production.”
The filmmaker said, “We thought it would take four days, but Pankaj completed it in three days. I don’t even remember this episode. He was paid Rs 25,000 per day. So, he was paid Rs 75,000 for three days. It was not like that (that he was promised a fixed amount).”
Boney Kapoor also pointed out that Arshad Warsi never spoke about any issue regarding his payment before and spoke about it only in his recent interview. “We were part of a TV show together. Malaika Arora and Farah Khan were also part of it. They never mentioned it and now suddenly they have talked about it. Now everyone wants media attention and I am an easy target,” Kapoor told the publication.
However, Arshad Warsi had said in his interview that Boney Kapoor was not aware of this entire incident.
