Ryan Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively has worked with the same composer on her upcoming film who worked on her husband’s latest blockbuster. In a recent social media post, Lively highlighted the contributions Rob Simonsen made to both her film It Ends With Us and Reynolds’ films Deadpool and Wolverine.
The Gossip Girl icon revealed on her Instagram Stories that Rob Simonsen, who worked on the score for Reynolds’ film, has also contributed songs to the upcoming romantic drama It Ends With Us.
Lively shared a list of songs that inspired her while filming the book-based drama, saying, “Some are songs I listened to while filming. Others are inspirations we used during editing or marketing. And others are great songs that ended up being incorporated into the movie.”
She also tagged those who worked on the film and thanked them for all the efforts they put into the soundtrack. The actress gave a special thanks to Simonsen. She wrote, “Yes the composer of @deadpoolmovie. My husband and I share more than just kids.” She highlighted that apart from being parents to their four children – James, Inez, Betty, and Olin, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have more things to share.
Simonson shared Lively’s post, praising her taste in music. “True story © Blake Lively’s musical taste is second to none. She knows who played the better violin between Johnny and the devil,” he wrote, referencing the song The Devil Went Down to Georgia.
Lively is returning to the big screen with the film, based on Colleen Hoover’s novel of the same name, It Ends With Us. The story follows Lily Bloom who moves to Boston in hopes of opening her own business. Her plans are derailed when she falls in love with neurosurgeon Riley Kincaid.
According to the film’s official description, “As the two fall deeply in love, she begins to see aspects of Ryle that remind her of her parents’ relationship. When Lily’s first love, Atlas Corrigan, suddenly returns to her life, her relationship with Ryle is strained, and she is left with an impossible choice.”
Justin Baldoni, Isabella Ferrer, Brandon Sklenar and Kevin McKidd also star in the film, with Lively producing the film.
It Ends With Us will hit theaters on August 9, 2024.
