Bigg Boss Tamil fame Oviya had earlier come into limelight after her allegedly intimate video went viral on social media platforms. However, the actress sought legal help and filed a complaint against the person responsible for leaking her “morphed” clip on the internet. According to a report in English Jagran, Oviya’s manager revealed that the video was shared with the intention of tarnishing her reputation.
The alleged accused person wanted to defame the actress and had allegedly uploaded the video on the social media platform. As per reports, Oviya lodged a complaint at Thrissur Police Station and revealed details about the culprit.
He revealed that his former friend, Tharik, had leaked the “converted” video as revenge. The actress narrated how she had to distance herself from the accused man due to his behaviour.
Oviya alleged that Tharik released the doctored video in response to her decision. He also claimed he had other morphed videos and images of women he had been involved with, raising concerns about his unacceptable behaviour.
Meanwhile, Oviya’s manager had earlier spoken to News18 and clarified that it was not the actress in the leaked video. Her manager said, “This is a distorted video made by someone who wants to tarnish Oviya’s name. She has taken the matter to the police commissioner and will take necessary legal action against the culprit.”
While Oviya is yet to issue any statement on the ongoing controversy, she once shared a selfie with her fingers crossed on her Instagram handle. However, after posting the photo, a social media user asked her to upload the full video, to which the actress commented, “Next time, brother.”
Oviya rose to fame after working in a Tamil film named Kalavani. The film was directed by Sarkunam. She also shared screen space with actor Prithviraj Sukumaran in Kangaroo. Some of his best works include Vengai, Sevanu and others.
