Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann mourned the death of veteran actor-comedian Jaswinder Bhalla in a emotional note. On August 22, ‘Carrie on Jatta’ actor passed away on 22 August.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann mourned the death of experienced comedian-actor Jaswinder Bhalla. The ‘Carrie on Jatta’ actor died on the morning of 22 August, and allegedly, he was unwell for the last few months.

The funeral will be on 23 August At 12 noon, in Mohali, at the Balgi crematorium, a large number of fans and artists were expected to gather to pay their final honors.

After the tragic news, Bhagwant Mann shared a post on X and mourned the death of the comedian. “Jaswinder Bhalla ji’s sudden farewell from this world is extremely sad .. Dil is saddened by the silence of Jingle of Chhaktian … maybe Wahaguru gave him a place on his feet, uncle Chatcha will always reside in our hearts (SIC),” his post translated from Punjabi.

Shiromakali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal also wrote a note on X, which said, “Hearing the news of the passage of the famous comedian and amazing man of Punjab, Jaswinder Bhalla ji has caused a lot of grief. Guru Sahib gave a place to the departed soul on his divine legs and the family and his millions of fans gave the divine soul to accept this divine legs.”

As BBC Punjabi, Bhalla faced brain stroke on Wednesday evening. He was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Mohali, where doctors revealed that the actor has also lost significant blood.

Jaswinder Bhalla was a stallwart who re -defined comedy in Punjabi cinema. Known for his innocent comic timing, down-to-end charm and fast satirical dialogues, he fascinated the audience in generations. Every role he left a long smile on the faces of the registered people. With memorable performance in films like ‘Gaddi Thali Hai Sixlla Merc’, ‘Carrie On Jatt’, ‘Jind Jaan’, and ‘Band Baje’, he made a special place in the hearts of cine-lovers.
