India’s tech hub Bengaluru is home to many new ideas and startups. Recently, the city has launched an automated Pani Puri vending machine located at HSR Bengaluru. This machine serves the popular Indian street food with just a press of a button. A user shared a picture of the machine on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “HSR is living in 2050.” Called “WTF – What The Flavours”, this stall is serving a unique Pani Puri experience that has everyone talking. You have multiple taps of flavoured water, you can make Puri according to your liking with this machine. From spicy to sweet, the options are endless! But that’s not all. Meanwhile, Karnataka’s street food, especially Pani Puri, has come under scrutiny for all the wrong reasons. A recent food safety check revealed that 41 of the 260 samples collected contained artificial colours and carcinogenic agents – substances that cause cancer. In addition, 18 samples were deemed completely unfit for human consumption.
