Bengaluru priest is the world’s first AI film in Kannada on a budget of Rs 10 lakh
Narasimha Murthy, a priest in Bangalore, produced and directed the Kannada film ‘Love You’, which is being called the first AI-based feature film in the world.
Narasimha Murthy, a priest from Siddhihalli village near Bengaluru, has completely surprised the Kannada film industry by claiming to direct the world’s first full-length feature film using Artificial Intelligence (AI). The 95-minute Kannada film, titled ‘Love You’, has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), indicating a milestone moment for regional cinema and AI-run filmmaking.
The idol, who served as a priest at the Hanumanthai temple, collaborated with graphic designer-turn-AE technician Nuthan, so that they could bring their vision into life. Despite being a two-member team, the two produced the entire cast, soundtrack, visual and even drone-style shots using about 30 different AI tools. The film was completed in six months on a minor budget of Rs 10 lakh, most of which were spent on software licensing.

Talk to The Times of IndiaMurthy said, “I wanted to make the world’s first AI feature film and wanted to release it. To start with it, I will screen it on just one screen to set it to a record.” The film consists of 12 original songs and AI-re-dialogues, although Murthy wrote all the songs and dialogues themselves.
Accepting the boundaries of technology, Murthy said, “Even the Regional Censor Officer indicated discrepancies in the characteristics of the characters from the scene to the scene. Making emotional expressions was a challenge, and lip-syncing is far from the ideal.” However, CBFC was allegedly influenced by the film’s ambition and innovation.
The film’s AI engineer Nathan highlighted the rapid development of AI Tools, saying, “The equipment we used are already six months old. If we retain the same film again today, it would be a thousand times better.” From characters to music and cinematography, everything was designed digitally, establishing an example in low -budget regional cinema.
Allegedly, the idol is already working on two more AI-operated projects. One will detect the life of the founder of Bangalore, Kampay Gowda, and the other will portray the historic person Imdi Pulikeshi. The first of these is expected to be completed within two months.
