Veteran Bengali actor Manoj Mitra has been admitted to the hospital due to age-related ailments. It is being said that the veteran actor’s condition is ‘extremely critical’.

according to PTIMitra was admitted to the hospital due to breathing problems, sodium-potassium imbalance and other health issues.

“Mr Mitra’s condition is very serious. He has been kept under observation,” his doctor told the agency.

Manoj Mitra’s brother Amar Mitra shared information about the 80-year-old Mitra’s health. Speaking on behalf of the family, Amar expressed deep hope for Mitra’s recovery and hoped that his brother would soon regain his strength and be able to stand again.

Manoj Mitra is a renowned film and theatre artist. Some of his most notable works include Tapan Sinha’s Banchhramer Bagan and Satyajit Ray’s classics Ghare Baire and Ganashatru. He has worked with notable filmmakers such as Buddhadev Dasgupta, Basu Chatterjee, Tarun Majumdar, Shakti Samanta and Gautam Ghosh.
