‘Bad Newz’ received mixed reviews. IndiaToday.in gave the film 2 out of 5 stars. An excerpt from our review can be read: “‘Bad Newz’ resembles an Instagram filter that loses its shine after the first use. The surface is shiny and glossy, but there is no substance to it that you can hold on to. The writing is shallow and flat. The punches never land. The film also tries satire and parody, but the jokes are so weak that they lose air before they even get started. Some lines seem left over from prime-time TV Laughter Challenge auditions.”
Earlier titled ‘Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam’, ‘Bad News’ marks the first time Vicky, Tripathi and Amy are working together. The film is backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film also stars Neha Dhupia. It released on July 19.
